PICTURE BOX SELLS TIL DEBT DO U$ PART TO CHINA

Picture Box Distribution Inc. is pleased to announce the recent sale of TIL DEBT DO U$ PART to Chinese distributor Tang Media. The popular, long-running program, which was commissioned by Slice in Canada, has already been sold to CNBC in the United States, Zone Reality in the United Kingdom, SVT in Sweden, TVN in Poland, Talit Communications in Israel, Kanal 2 in Estonia and Discovery Asia, features financial advisor Gail Vaz-Oxlade teaching couples in financial trouble how to get debt-free.

Despite recent announcements by the Chinese government to limit the country’s amount of foreign programming, Picture Box is also in negotiation with Tang Media on several other Canadian lifestyle programs.

“Bringing English-language lifestyle programming into China is an important milestone,” says Kate Sanagan, Partner and Director of Sales for Picture Box. “We expect this territory to further open up in the coming year.”

PICTURE BOX PICKS UP WAY OFF BROADWAY

Picture Box Distribution Inc. has acquired the sales rights to WAY OFF BROADWAY, an Apartment 11 Productions documentary series produced in association with Bravo! and set to premiere on the network this winter in Canada. The new 13 x 60’ series follows a group of strangers as they work together to face their fears and launch the famous musical, The Wizard of Oz. Under the guidance of Sarina Condello, these performers only have eight weeks to transform from total amateurs into polished stars – and most have never been on stage before. What follows is an amazing journey into the transformative powers of participating in a live theatre production.

PICTURE BOX BRINGS POPULAR WEIGHT LOSS SERIES TO THE US

Retitled OUR BIG FAT WEIGHT LOSS STORY for The Style Network, this series follows families and individuals as they go from fat to fit. It tackles a range of lifestyle issues such as healthy eating, childhood obesity and low self-esteem due to poor body image. Style has picked up multiple seasons of the non-scripted series.

Canada’s Picture Box Distribution has sold the popular reality series BRIDES OF BEVERLY HILLS (13 X 30’) to TLC in the United States. Produced by Planetworks Inc. in association with Slice Network, this series is a fun and intimate glimpse into the world of Renee Strauss, an upscale bridal boutique owner with a knack for reeling in her eclectic team of sales people, and her equally eclectic clientele of brides.
